Rekha was just featured on the cover of the most recent issue of Vogue Arabia, setting a historical milestone in fashion. The seasoned actress emanated richness and majesty in the picture as she was dressed in golden costumes by renowned designer Manish Malhotra. Rekha, who hasn’t been in a movie since 2014, was scheduled to give her first interview in 20 years. However, she managed to ignite the internet with her appearance, earning “icon” status for fashionistas. Rekha was photographed recently appearing on the cover of the magazine displaying stunning Manish Malhotra’s vintage costumes, according to the official Vogue Arabia Instagram account.

In the first outfit, the timeless legend was dressed in a black turtleneck top layered over a sumptuous antique brocade jacket decorated with elaborate thread work, sequins, and golden embroidery. A flowy jacket and headdress with gold zari embroidery added a touch of Mughal opulence and grace. She finished the look with a hefty necklace and stud earrings in addition to her trademark dramatic lips and eyelids.
The second outfit included Rekha dressed in a classic golden saree with layered necklaces, bangles, earrings, and statement rings made of diamonds. She wore a custom Van Cleef and Arpels necklace called the Maharaja that weighs 161.62 carats and required 5,000 hours to create. Rekha donned her custom-made saree to go with the pricey jewellery that Manish Malhotra had crafted. Speaking to the magazine about working with the actress, the designer said, “The pure love she has for fabrics, embroideries and colour, a passion that we both share deeply, it’s been extraordinarily inspiring. We have a mutual admiration for each other, which is one of the reasons we make such a good team.”
Rekha donned a lovely Muslin Angarkha anarkali with an ivory churidar and juttis in the third look, which was shown on Instagram. She wore a dramatic and complex matha patti, as well as matching flower earrings and hefty necklaces made of gold and kundan.
Talking about her career to the magazine, Rekha said, “Whether I make films or not, it never leaves me. I have my memories to relive what I love. And when the time is right, the right project will find me.”
